A Sculptry is a copper Sculpture surrounded by an acrylic tinted cement base that is fabricated into a complete wall mounted Tapestry. The work is similar to work in the "Cloisonné Studio"  but on a larger scale. The shimmering lines that you see are made from polished copper and could be a stand alone sculpture. The copper is sealed with a metal sealer to resist oxidation. The color surrounding the copper is made by tinting a special blend of cement and other products with acrylic paints. Some painting on the cured surface is done depending on the subject. The surface is treated and slow cured to resist cracking. Although in some pieces cracking is encouraged to create a look of age or interest. It is then finished with a  sealer.  The frame is made of  either wood, wood products, steel or other materials depending on the piece.  The frames are custom hand made for each piece and painted, stained or finished with a patina depending on the materials used. The copper, cement and frame become one piece of art work through an elaborate system of mechanical fasteners and supports. It is impossible to separate the components once completed. When displayed the copper inlay reflects light and color as the piece takes on a new look with changes in lighting or viewing angle. Typically a Sculptry will weight between 10 and 35 pounds and can be hung using normal picture hanging materials. I can install a cleat system for hanging larger pieces. I have developed techniques to display pieces out of doors also. As with any art work the best way to view a Sculptry is in person and in proper lighting. I display each piece in my own home/studio/gallery to ensure they capture the light just as I intended.  All  Sculptrys are original designs. Each one is hand made one at a time with no copies or prints. The one you buy is the only one. I know you will be thrilled when you see it in your own home or office.
